Workforce Insights beta release
Based on IDEA-I-205 and IDEA-I-149
Workforce Insights is a new solution to provide line managers and the C suite with standard dashboards and reports of employee data for their teams so they can make informed decisions. The Workforce Insights dashboards derive data from datasets built using the data from the different objects in the org. The data in the dashboards can be regularly refreshed. Managers can interact with the dashboards by applying global filters, saving their filtered views, sorting data, performing average calculations on data, and sending notifications on threshold values, such as "when the headcount in Australia reaches the value N", and download the dashboards as images.
The beta release includes standard dashboards for 2 groups of users:
-
For the C Suite, drawing on data from the entire organization:
-
Headcount dashboards: Headcount, Tenure, and Organization Design
-
-
For line managers with direct reports, drawing on data from the organization chart levels below the manager:
-
Headcount dashboards: Headcount and Tenure
-
Time Off dashboards
-
Performance dashboards: Performance reviews and Objectives
-
Future releases will add other dashboards.
Workforce Insights is released as a beta release: A software release of a new or significantly enhanced feature which includes core functionality but may not meet all needs for ensuring broader customer migration or adoption. The feature is available to all customers in both production and sandbox environments. The purpose is to solicit feedback on the scope and priority of additional enhancements prior to general availability.
Before you can start using Workforce Insights, your org needs CRM Analytics licenses. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you are interested in the beta release.

Known issues in the beta release
-
After the package installs, the Workforce Insights CRM Analytics app is installed and permission sets assigned to system users. If the Integration User does not exist in the org, the permission set assignment to it fails. To resolve, assign the Sage People Workforce Insights Data Sync permission set manually, and then re-run the CRM Analytics app installation. For more information see the package installation steps. Sage People is working on resolving this issue in a future release.
-
Recipe and dataset upgrade issues when existing recipes contain changes such as new fields. If a new package version contains new recipes only, the CRM Analytics app can upgrade successfully. If a new package version contains updates to existing recipes, the CRM Analytics app upgrade can fail. If the upgrade fails, the situation cannot currently be resolved without a paid CRM Analytics license or uninstalling and reinstalling the Workforce Insights package from scratch. Sage People continues to explore solutions to manage upgrades for orgs with free CRM Analytics licenses only with support from Salesforce.
