Compensation Planning permission set overview

Compensation Planning is delivered with three Permission Sets enabling users to access the objects and fields required by the package:

  • HR Administrator Permission Set, enabling the HR Administrator to setup, monitor, and maintain Compensation Plans:

    Sage_People_HR_Administrator_Compensation_Planning_Configure

  • HR Manager Permission Set, enabling the HR Manager to see the Compensation Planning records for all Team Members in their departments:

    Sage_People_HR_Manager_Compensation_Planning_Configure

  • Team Member Permission Set, enabling Team Members to access and complete plans through Sage People WX:

    Sage_People_Platform_Team_Member_Compensation_Planner

Permission Sets are typically used to extend the level of access granted to a user through the Profile they are assigned. Unlike Profiles, Permission Sets supplied with a package cannot be changed. You must assign the appropriate Permission Set to all who are going to use Compensation Planning.

You can assign a Permission Set to a single user or to multiple users.

  1. Go to Salesforce Lightning Experience: Setup > Administration > Users > Permission Sets.

  2. Select the Permission Set Label for the set you want to assign:
    • Sage_People_HR_Administrator_Compensation_Planning_Configure enables the HR Administrator to set up Compensation Plans.
    • Sage_People_HR_Manager_Compensation_Planning_Configure enables the HR Manager to see the Compensation Planning records for all Team Members in their departments.
    • Sage_People_Platform_Team_Member_Compensation_Planner gives Team Members access to Plans and associated data through WX.
  3. Select Manage Assignments.
  4. Select Add Assignment.
  5. Select the checkbox for each user you want to assign to the Permission Set.

If the user does not have the required level of access to the Permission Set, open the user's User record and change the access. The user also needs a profile compatible with the Permission Set. For example, to access the Sage People HR Administrator Compensation Planning Configure Permission Set, a user must be assigned a System Administrator profile.

  6. Select Next.

Sage People displays the Select an Expiration Option For Assigned Users screen, where you can set an expiration date for the permission set assignment.

    1. Set the expiration date:

      • If you want the permission set assignment to be permanent, No expiration date is selected by default. Select Assign to continue.

      • If you want to assign the permission set for a period of time, select one of the options:

        • 1 Day

        • 1 Week

        • 30 Days

        • 60 Days

        • Custom date, and use the date picker to select the expiration date.

Select Time Zone to choose a time zone if you want to set it to something other than your time zone, then select Assign.

Sage People displays the Assignment Summary and confirms the Permission set assignment.

  7. Select Done.
