Application Status indicates the position of the Application in the Application lifecycle in Sage People. You can set the Application Status manually or automatically by system or user-defined workflows.
A Recruit Application can have one of a defined set of status values. Each of these has a meaning to the Recruit system and helps to define what can happen to the Application.
Don't:
- Change the default Application Status value - changing the default value causes candidate applications to fail
- Change the spelling of any supplied Application Status option by editing picklist values. Changed values can’t work in Recruit
If your organization uses Sage People Candidate Portal, Application Status is updated on the Portal immediately - a change to the status by the Recruiter or Hiring Manager is reflected on the Candidate Portal the next time the candidate connects to the Portal or refreshes their browser.
Available Application Status values are:

Newly created and not yet completed the first stage of the assessment process. |

On Hold |
Temporarily paused while finalizing the outcome of an assessment stage takes place. |

Passive |
A Candidate exists and is a suspect or prospect for a specific Vacancy, but they haven't yet expressed a formal interest. |

Ongoing |
Part of a current, active recruitment process. |
|
Onboarding |
An application is in the Onboarding stage of the selection process. |
|
Hired |
An application is in the Hired stage of the recruitment process. |
|
Not This Vacancy |
You've finished the selection process for this Application and deemed the Candidate not suitable for this Vacancy. The system changes the Candidate's status to Talent Pool so you can consider them for other Vacancies. |
| Rejected | You've concluded the selection process for this Application and deemed the Candidate not suitable for this Vacancy. The system doesn't add the Candidate to the Talent Pool. |

Withdrew |
The Candidate concludes an application and decided not to pursue the Vacancy further. |

Pending |
An offer is in preparation or awaiting approval for this Application. Pending applications can move to status:

You've approved an offer for this Application and can pass it to the Candidate for agreement or rejection. |
