This change enables Salesforce to deliver a consistent user experience regardless of a user's location. In most use cases it reduces latency by routing user requests to the closest Salesforce location.

What is the impact?
Salesforce Edge is a network technology to improve the network experience, with consistent quality content delivery and improved download times, no matter where your users are located. It works by redirecting requests to the closest Salesforce location where Salesforce Edge Network is deployed.
