Enable Person Accounts
Person Accounts store information about individual people by combining account and contact fields into a single record. When enabled, you cannot disable Person Accounts.

Go to Setup > Objects and Fields > Object Manager.

Select the label for the Account object.

Select Record Types.

Select an existing Record Type if one exists and go to step 5.
If no Record Types have been defined:
- Select New.

On Step 1 of the New Record Type complete the fields as follows:
Field What to enter Existing Record Type Select Master Record Type Label Enter Business Account Record Type Name Automatically completed for you with the Record Type Label you entered. Leave the default value: Business_Account. Active Checkbox. Select, Profile list Select the Make Available checkbox to make the Record Type available for all Profiles. - Select Next.
- On Step 2 of the New Record Type select the Apply one layout to all profiles radio button and Account Layout from the associated picklist.
- Select Save.
- Go to Setup > Security > Sharing Settings.
- In the Manage sharing settings for: picklist select Contacts.

In the Organization-Wide Defaults section ensure the Contact object is set to Controlled by Parent for both Default Internal Access and Default External Access.
If different values are displayed, select Edit to change them and select Save.
- Select Save.
- Go to Setup > Feature Settings > Sales > Accounts > Account Settings.
- In the Person Accounts section for Manage settings from the Person Accounts page select Edit Settings.
- Select View Org Impacts and provide consent to the impact model.
- Select Enable Person Accounts.
Your org is now ready to grant user access to Person Accounts.
If Person Accounts are not available in your org, or you receive an email from Salesforce requiring additional configuration, raise a Salesforce support case to request Person Account activation. The support case needs to include:
- The subject: Activate Person Accounts
- The org ID.
- The org type: sandbox or production.
- Confirmation you're an authorized administrator for the org.
- Confirmation you understand that when Person Accounts is enabled, it cannot be disabled.
