Frequently asked questions

Can I change the date format from YYYY-DD-MM to MM-DD-YYYY?

Unfortunately it is not possible to change the date format in entry fields of any form (Recruit or HCM).

Tip

Include a format clarification for end users in the Question Pre Text field in the form definition.

How can I translate HCM Form buttons?

The default navigation button labels are custom labels and standard translations are supplied. WX users see the button labels according to the language selection.

Depending on your use case and the way you have set up the forms in your org, you have options:

  • If you have different form definitions for the form in different languages: add the buttons manually to the form definition, for more information see New Button.

  • Deactivate the standard navigation buttons and use tabs for navigation:

    1. In the Visual Editor, select the form page and then select Advanced Mode.

    2. Uncheck Navigation. This removes the standard navigation and submit buttons from the form pages.

    3. For Tab Text, enter the text you want to display on the tab. Entering text in this field is the only thing required for displaying the tab as a tab.

    4. Save the form definition.

You also need to add a button manually for submitting the form.

  • If you want to change the language for all forms hosted at a Salesforce Site:

    1. Navigate to Setup > Quick Find > Sites

    2. Select the HCM Form site label, select Public Access Settings

    3. Select View Users then Edit for Site Guest User

    4. Select the appropriate Language in the Local Settings

Can I set validation rules across multiple fields?

There is no way to validate entries across multiple fields, for example if you don’t want the total of all values entered to exceed a specific value. You can validate entries in Text fields using specific validation criteria or regular expressions. See Validation.

Can I update data in a specific custom field I've created?

Try using an advanced data link rule. Advanced data links can be used to map data to custom fields in related objects, and to and to create 'child' records where an object may have multiple entries for a given record, such as Dependents, Emergency Contacts and Passports.

See Advanced data link rules.

Can I change the site hosting my forms?

Once registered and saved, the Salesforce site cannot be amended by a system administrator. Contact your support representative.

Can I change the Salesforce site domain after it has been registered?

This is not recommended because site domains can affect SSO details, links in email templates, and any Salesforce Sites or Experience Cloud sites you have configured. If you want to change the site domain, contact your support representative.

See Creating Salesforce sites.
