Setting up your form

The basic steps to configure a form are:

  1. Create a new form definition: this defines general settings for the form, such as its name, its parent data object, and the form layout template and URL.

  2. Design the form's pages, layout, and questions using the visual editor.

  3. Map form questions to data object fields using data links. This step is optional, and is only required if you want form responses to automatically update data objects in the parent object linked to the form.

  4. Configure email notifications and reminders for the form. This step is optional.

  5. If the form is to be accessed publicly without requiring users to log in (for example by pre-boarders), create a forms site to host your forms, and configure permissions to allow guest users to access the site.

  6. Deploy the form by assigning it to a policy or an action event trigger. This step is optional: if the form is not assigned to a policy or an action event, the form can be triggered manually. See Deploying your form.

You can also optionally apply custom branding to your form, by changing the logo image and colors. See Branding your form.
