Y23.3 release highlights

Welcome to the Sage People Y23.3 release!

As always, we’ve been working on ways to help you spend less time on manual tasks and admin, and more time focusing on your people and their experiences.

Scan the highlights to get a quick view of what’s in this upcoming release. If you are a Sage People customer you can also attend the release webinar on 11 July 2023 but if you miss it, don’t worry, we’ll post the recording on the Sage People Community.

  • Workforce eXperience user interface enhancements

    People Management Workflow: (PMW) has received significant enhancements to achieve feature parity with HR requests, and to give the best experience possible with the new features. Now Generally Available and not behind a toggle.

    A new widget-based home page is also introduced in the new designs that can be toggled on or off, and will include widgets for internal comms and summary processes. Work continues on building out the home page in full for Y23.4

  • Microsoft Teams and Outlook integration (Time Off)

    Currently available for users in the UK and US.

    HR teams and the entire workforce can now perform HR tasks in the flow of work and save time switching between applications.

    Starting with absence and time off functionality, which is the most frequently used aspect of Sage People, employees can now book multiple absence types from within Microsoft Teams using a chat bot. The time off request is sent to the line manager via Microsoft Teams for approval, and once approved, the MS Outlook integration ensures that absence bookings are always sync'd to employees’ Outlook calendars, eliminating the need to key them in twice.

  • Outlook Interview Scheduling

    Powered by an integration with Microsoft Outlook, a new interview scheduling feature enables recruiters to easily find hiring teams’ availability and schedule interviews without having to switch between different applications.

    In a competitive jobs market where there are high numbers of jobs available and not enough skilled people to fill them, recruiters need to be fast to hire top talent. The ability to easily schedule and manage interviews between multiple candidates and internal hiring teams is paramount – something which can now be done directly from within Sage People.

Customer-suggested improvements

We are dedicating a significant portion of our roadmap to requests that come directly from our customers through the new Ideas Hub, which you can access through the Community. View and vote on existing ideas already raised, check the status of an idea already submitted, or raise a new idea.

The confirmation step within PMW has been streamlined with the removal of the success message, taking away any confusion for managers and speeding up the process.

With significant UI and UX improvements to PMW in this release, it’s now even easier to view important information like who a HR request is assigned to, what stage it is in and for how long.

People Management Workflow: text field items now support drop down lists

When changing items like job titles in PMW there is now support for drop down lists which improves accuracy and helps users avoid making incorrect entries.

Time Off: allow attachments for "vacation" absence accrual type

The ability for WX users to upload a file when they request a Vacation such as proof of holiday or travel booking, is now supported by our Time Off process.

Team Member New Hire wizard: HR Department and Policy picklists

Picklists are now ordered alphabetically, making it easier to find and select the right option when setting up a new Team Member.
