Accessibility and UI improvements

Note These notes are for the Sage People Y25.2.2 release, which we've currently deployed to Sandbox orgs only. Deployment to production orgs begins February 25.

In the Sage People Y25.2.2 release, we’ve made several accessibility and UI improvements. This includes:

HR Request

  • Improved keyboard navigation using the tab key

  • Screen reader announcements for key elements

  • Enabling use of up and down keys when selecting Request Types on the team member picker

  • Update to the initial focus behavior, meaning the system highlights the most appropriate field when a screen loads. This allows easier navigation to subsequent fields when using the tab key

People groups and vaccination management WX

We've upgraded the UI components of the following areas:

  • Personal risk mitigation

  • Confirmation component

  • File upload

  • Time off

WX employee self-service portal - assistive technology

Those who use assistive technology when accessing the self-service portal will now see the following improvements:

  • Improved keyboard navigation and screen reader experience

  • Fixes to color contrast in Summary Processes and in sidebar navigation

  • A new option for people who use keyboard navigation. This lets you choose whether to continue navigating or move the focus to the main content

  • The ability to add alternative text in the Alt-Text field of HR Noticeboards

  • An option to mark images in internal communications as decorative

  • Unique page titles in Enhanced Objectives and Feedback pages

Replacing default image for users

If a user doesn't have a picture added to their Sage People profile, the system currently displays a default image. This will now show the users initials.
