User licenses

Sage People is built on the Salesforce platform, and Sage People users require Salesforce licenses to use the system. Typically, your org has the following types of licenses for users: 

  • administrator licenses

    Administrator licenses are required for all users who need access to the HR Manager portal or Recruit. This includes the System Administrator, any other HR and Recruit administrators, HR team members, and recruiters. Administrator licenses are full Salesforce User licenses.

    Sage People provides 1 free administrator licenses for every 50 user licenses.

    Some integrations, such as DocuSign or APIs, may also require an administrator license.

  • user licenses

    User licenses are required for all Team Members who use WX and have User records. User licenses are Salesforce Platform User licenses.

  • sandbox licenses

    Sandbox licenses are licenses for using the organization's sandbox environment.

  • support licenses

    A support license is required during implementation and ongoing support after implementation. Support licenses are full Salesforce User licenses. A support license is assigned for each Sage People customer free of charge.

  • data only licenses

    A data only license is a Sage People license with no associated Salesforce user license. These licenses can be used for Team Members who do not require access to WX and have no User records.

You can view the number of available and used user licenses for each license type in Company Information in Setup. For more information about user licenses, see Salesforce help content on user licenses. Salesforce does not currently provide an out of the box mechanism for sending notifications when the number of licenses of a particular type in an org reaches a threshold value, but you can find third party guidance for how to set up a Flow for this purpose.

A license is typically allocated when you create a new user record.
