Sage People mobile app enhancements
The Sage People mobile app is available now for Android and iOS. The app streamlines employee self-service by enabling users to book time off on the go, view and update their work details, receive, and act on push notifications, view any pending actions, and access the organization directory. Managers can review and approve attendance and absence requests for their direct reports. The app also provides access to all mobile-enabled WX processes using an in-app browser.
The Sage People (New) app is available to download now in the Google Play and Apple App Stores. For implementation details and setup instructions, see Mobile.

Streamlined end-user setup process (deep links)

Push notifications
-
Support for customers migrating to the new app

Usability enhancements
Streamlined end-user setup process
To streamline the setup experience for the Sage People mobile app, this release introduces a mobile setup “deep link” that can be distributed to end users. The deep link automatically installs and configures the new mobile app for end users.
The mobile setup link can be found on the policy page in the HR Manager portal, when the Mobile Is Active setting is enabled for the policy.
Users can follow this link from their mobile device. If the mobile app is not already installed, the user is taken to the Google Play store or Apple App Store as appropriate, where they can install the app. The deep link automatically configures the organization’s sign-in URL for the app when installation has completed.
If the user already has the app installed when the link is followed, the deep link will automatically configure the organization’s sign-in URL for the app.
Users accessing the link from a desktop device are taken to a webpage with instructions on how to install the app.
What do I need to do?
In the HR Manager Portal, copy the contents of the Team Member Mobile App Link field. This field appears on the policy page for any policy that has the Mobile Is Active setting enabled.
Distribute this setup link to your users.
Notes: The deep link is specific to your organization. The link is the same for all policies. Users must have enabled functional cookies in the app for the sign-in URL setting to be saved.
Push notifications
From Release 1 2022, the app supports mobile push notifications, allowing users and managers to receive and act on real-time notifications such as absence request approvals.
What do I need to do?
Push notifications are enabled by default. To use push notifications, ensure you have configured a Push Notification Alert Message for any action events that require notifications in the mobile app.
Note: If you have already enabled push notifications for the legacy mobile app, these will continue to work for the new app. When the new app has been configured for your organization, no additional setup is required.
Support for customers migrating to the new app
To ensure that users have the best possible experience of Sage People, from Release 1 2022 the legacy Sage People app will no longer be supported for customers using the latest version of HCM. Any users accessing the legacy app will be prompted to install the new app. The old app will display an announcement with a deep link that takes them to the new app in the relevant app store for their device and configures the organization’s sign-in URL automatically.
What do I need to do?
To prepare your organization for the transition to the new app, ensure you have completed the configuration steps to enable the new mobile app for your organization. Follow the deployment instructions in the Sage People Mobile Help Center.
After your organization has been upgraded to Release 1 2022, any users attempting to access the legacy app will be shown a page with information about the new app, and prompted to install it using the deep link for your organization.
If you require more support with this transition, contact your Sage People support representative.
Usability enhancements
The following usability enhancements have been made to the mobile app for this release:
-
Users are now prompted to enable biometric authentication for access to the app when they first sign in. Biometric authentication can be turned on or off in the app's Settings screen.
-
Minor enhancements have been made to the look and feel of the dark mode feature.
-
On iOS devices, the date picker used to select dates for absences did not always behave as expected. The behavior of the iOS date picker has been updated to make selecting absence dates easier.
