US tax forms now use JSON format
The Sage People US Tax Forms package uses a third-party supplier, Symmetry Software, to generate the employees' tax forms. Until now, Sage People has exchanged data with Symmetry in XML format. However, Symmetry are ending support for the XML format and will only support the JSON format. This release updates the US Tax Forms package to use JSON format.
The change in the format of files used in data exchange has no impact on the functionality provided by the package. Symmetry returns employees' tax forms as PDF files in the same way as before.
Alongside the work to support the JSON format, this release includes enhancements to handling of Symmetry data validation errors. Previously WX only displayed a generic data validation error message advising users to contact their HR team. With this release, employees in WX will see some of the data validation errors from Symmetry directly. For example, if the user's zip code is in an incorrect format, the user can see the Symmetry validation message. This means employees can attempt to fix data issues before contacting their HR teams.
A file previously supplied in the US Tax Forms package and stored in Static Resources, Symmetry_Properties.xml
, is no longer needed. This release removes it from the package. Installing this release does not remove the existing file from your org, but you can remove the file manually.
