Sandbox creation and use |
Troubleshooting
Sandbox email notifications aren’t sending
If you’re testing a flow to send a notification in Sandbox with both:
-
The flow configured with From Email Address set to Current User's Email Address
-
A user with a .com.invalid email address
the system won't send the email.
If the flow works with the Sage Support user, but not for other users, try:
-
Resetting the employee's email addresses in the user record.
-
Changing the flow to use an organization-wide email address.
Password reset emails not sending in Sandbox
If your Sandbox environment isn't delivering password reset emails, the following can provide causes and solutions.
Email address change requires confirmation
If you remove .invalid from a user's email address, the user then needs to confirm the new email address before you issue a password reset. Users can confirm this via a link the system sends to the updated email address. Without the user completing confirmation, the system sends the password reset to the invalid email address.
User account frozen after Sandbox refresh
During a Sandbox refresh, the system can sometimes freeze user records. If this happens, the system can't send password reset emails.
To resolve this, you can unfreeze the user account before resending the password reset email. See the Salesforce article Freeze or unfreeze user accounts for more information.
Expired or redirecting password reset links
If you have issues with expired or redirecting password reset links, you can try the following:
-
Request a new link - links expire after 24 hours. You can request a new link from the log in page
-
Manual link entry - copy and paste the password reset link into your browser rather than clicking the link. This can bypass link-screening software
-
Administrator setting - have a Salesforce administrator enable the Don't immediately expire links in forgot password emails policy in the user's profile. This policy is designed to bypass server protection that expires the link
-
Contact IT/email security support - contact your IT or support team for your email security to allow emails from Salesforce
See the Salesforce article Troubleshoot password reset issues in Salesforce for more information.
