Automatic assessment

When recruiting for vacancies where you expect to receive many applications, you can improve the effectiveness of the selection process. You can do thissby automating parts of the assessment in Sage.

  • Set qualification questions for key criteria for the first stage of the vacancy selection process. The system then presents these questions to candidates applying through a Candidate Portal or Agency Portal. It scores responses, assesses the results and any scores below the minimum value you set result in automatic rejection. Application Status updates on the Portal immediately. A change to the status by the Recruiter or Hiring Manager reflects on the Candidate Portal. Candidates will see this the next time they connect to the Portal or refresh their browser
  • Use the Automatic Stage Actions available when you set up a vacancy selection stage. Automatic Stage Actions let you:

    • Set a pass score which candidates must achieve for the assessment before the application can move automatically to the next stage
    • Select the next stage for which the system submits applications automatically when assessment scores meet or exceed the value you set
    • Set a minimum score for the assessment. If candidates score below the minimum, the system can reject their applications automatically
  • Use the Outcome Emails available when you set up a vacancy selection stage. The system can send Outcome Emails automatically, triggered by the outcome of the stage assessment

Viewing criteria and screening responses

Hiring managers need to know the criteria you use for initial candidate screening, and the assessments made for the criteria. Initial screening typically includes assessment of the right to work and basic eligibility for the role.

  1. Open the application.

  2. Select the Related tab and find the Criteria Assessments related list.

  3. Select the Assessment you want to see:
