Absence and Vacation | Making absences private

Your organization may have types of absence considered private, such as compassionate or family leave. Sage People enables you to manage private absences so the reasons are not visible to colleagues or the downward reporting chain in a Team View calendar. Absence reasons remain visible to the Team Member's manager and the upward reporting chain however they are set up.

Use the options as follows:

Sets the overall default for absence reasons used by this policy. The default is to keep all absence reasons private. Check to make all absence reasons visible by default on the Team View. You must then use rule settings to override the default for each absence reason you want to be private.	Sets the default value of the Is Private checkbox for the absence reason to which the rule applies.	Makes the Is Private checkbox visible in WX when entering a new absence. The Is Private field can be included in each of the Absence field sets: Absence Manager, Absence Team Member and so on.	If the Is Private checkbox is included in the field set for the WX view, you can change the setting when a new absence is entered. If the Is Private checkbox is not included in the field set, its default value cannot be changed. The default value set in the policy and the absence accrual rule applies.
