If you have this problem... Try this...
Report has inconsistent row results. Verify the report filters and run the report again.
An error similar to "Target Object Cannot have more than 100 Custom Fields" in reporting snapshots Permanently delete the fields in Deleted Custom Fields & Relationships, as the system includes these in the record count.
When exporting a report this error message is received: "The file you are trying to open, '[filename].xls', is in a different format than the specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?"

The warning message is simply a user-notification function that was added to Excel and can help prevent unexpected problems that might occur because of possible incompatibility between the actual content of the file and the file name extension.

Select Yes, as the file is from a trusted source.

Dashboard components not showing any results.

Try these suggestions: 

  • Have you refreshed the dashboard?
  • Do you have data to report on?

When creating a dashboard, after selecting the report, the preview states "We can't draw this chart because there is no data"

Try these suggestions:

  • Change the X and Y axis selection.
  • Check the filters on the base report to see what data is included.

You are using a custom report type and a team member is missing from a report you are expecting them to be included.

 

Check the relationships between the objects specified in the report type. The team member can be missing because they do not have a related record expected by the report type.

Using a custom report type and cannot find a field from the object to add to the report.

Try these suggestions:

  • Use Quick Find to check for the field rather scanning the than list of fields in case the field not added to the layout in the alphabetic order.
  • Check the field is available in the custom report type. If the field was created after the custom report type was created, it is not automatically added to the report type.

You try to subscribe others to a report but the Edit Recipients button is not visible

Make sure the permissions required to subscribe others to reports are in place. For more information, see Report and dashboard subscriptions.

When trying to report on Forms, the Value field is truncated so the full value cannot be exported. Use the Long Value field instead of the Value field in the report. When exported, the full value displays correct even if it does not display in full in the report on screen.
A System Administrator user unable to remove fields from custom report types. Check your browser settings. You can experience issues when editing custom report types if the zoom setting of your browser is not 100%. Try changing your browser zoom view to 100% or try an alternative internet browser.
A field is not available to select when going to map the field in the Reporting Snapshot Field Mappings. Ensure you have added the field to the Reporting Snapshot Export report.
