Setting up People Groups: Introduction
Sage People enables you to set up and maintain groups of team members brought together to meet a range of organizational needs. Group members do not need any formal reporting or organizational relationship and can be drawn from any part of the business. Examples include:
- Project teams comprising people from a range of business areas.
- Agile tribes and squads brought together for specific developments.
- Special interest groups.
You can:
-
Define parent and child Groups.
One level of relationship - a parent group can have multiple child groups but you cannot define grandparent, grandchild, or other levels of group relationship. For example:
- A parent Group for program of projects in your organization and child Groups for the individual projects in the program.
- A parent Group for staff in a specific role across the entire organization, such as User Experience Designers, and child Groups for more specialized topics.
The parent and child group status can only be seen and maintained in HR Manager Portal, not in WX.
- Add the same people to more than one Group.
-
Use Group Types to define a number of related Groups.
Group Type can only be seen and maintained in HR Manager Portal, not in WX.
- Report on Groups and Group Types.
- Set up and maintain Groups through the HR Manager Portal. Active Groups are visible through WX.
