Libraries: Scales
Scales are measures used when assessing competency indicators and skills, such as frequency, expertise, or proficiency. Scales have multiple responses and a variety of prompts and formats to control how a Team Member is rated. Ratings can either be all on one page, one page per competency, or one page per indicator. There are also options to control whether text comments are expected with responses.
Each scale response comprises a score, label and description. A scale can have any number of responses.
The score for a response must start at 1 and increment by 1 for each additional response. You can enter a single not applicable or not known response with a special score of -1. The score is not shown at assessment time but is used in the results.
The Permit No Response checkbox in the scale details determines if a user must select a value in an assessment where the scale is used.
The label is used to select a response when assessing the competency indicator or giving the proficiency of a skill. The description provides additional pop-up information to help explain the response.
