Candidate questions overview
Candidate questions are optional but very useful additions to your Candidate Experience Portal, enabling you to filter out candidates who do not match basic requirements. Candidate questions can be:
-
Pre-qualification or screening questions.
Presented to a candidate before they create their application, pre-qualification questions are usually mandatory pre-requisites for the role, such as eligibility to work in a specific country, specific language skills, or qualifications required for the application to proceed.
If a candidate fails to answer a screening question satisfactorily they are automatically rejected.
Screening questions can be:
-
Generic, displayed to all candidates.
Generic questions are typically used to ensure candidates meet the basic requirements to work for your organization, for example citizenship or the possession of a valid work permit.
-
Specific to one or more vacancies.
-
Specific to one or more countries.
Screening questions are supported by the questions themselves, question libraries to host collections of questions, and candidate responses to the questions. To define screening questions:
-
Create the question and the associated response options. Responses form part of the candidate application.
-
If the question is specific to one or more vacancies, link the question to related vacancies.
-
Create a question library if required.
-
If the library is related to one or more vacancies, link the library to related vacancies.
-
Enable access to screening questions.
-
-
Automatically scored against pre-defined criteria.
Auto-scored questions are typically used for more in depth candidate assessment after initial pre-qualification questions have been answered satisfactorily.
