Adding and amending Language Selector picklist
The Language Selector picklist determines which languages can be selected by WX users.
Selecting a language with the WX Language Selector picklist also selects the locale to match, so number and date formats are displayed to match the common expectations of speakers of the language. If you want to set non-matching language and locale, use Locale settings on the User record.
-
Go to Setup > Platform Tools > Packaging > Installed Packages.
-
Select Configure next to Sage People Human Capital Management.
Sage People displays the Configure page for Sage People HCM.
-
In Available Languages add a line for each language you want to be available for selection. Each line must be of the form:
[Name of the language as you want it displayed in the picklist]:[language code]
For example:
Française:fr
Use the Locale codes. When complete, Available Languages might contain the following entries:
English:en_US
Čeština:cs
Deutsch:de
Español:es
Français:fr
Hrvatski:hr
日本語:ja
한국어:ko
Русский:ru
Svenska:sv
For a list of supported languages for Sage People, see Multi-language support.
TipDon't forget to add an entry for your organization's base language, to allow users to switch back to this after choosing an alternative language.
- Select Save.
-
Go to WX and check the Language Selector picklist at the bottom of the page displays the languages you have set up.
Check the translated terms display for your chosen languages by selecting the language in the picklist.
Selecting a language with the WX Language Selector picklist also selects the locale to match, so number and date formats are displayed to match the common expectations of speakers of the language. Sage People WX maps Salesforce locales to its own list of supported locales to display the appropriate date and number formats. If you use a locale WX does not recognize, it defaults to the en-US locale for formatting dates and numbers.
