Viewing Accrual Balance
When the Generate Accrual Balances batch job runs, it creates Accrual Balance records associated with each Team Member's Employment Record.
Each Accrual Balance record details balances for one absence type and reason for the current period. The current period is the calendar year unless the Absence Accrual Rule specifies a reset day other than 1 January. If a reset day is specified, the period spans from one reset day to the next.
If the balance carries over to a future period, the Accrual Balance record has related Accrual Balance Carry Over records. The Carry Over records provide the amount and expiry date of the carryover entitlement.
If the Accrual Balance Related list is not shown on the Employment Record page, you can add it to the page layout:
- In Salesforce Classic Experience, go to Setup > App Setup > Create > Objects and select the Employment Record object. On the Custom Object Definition Detail page, in the Page Layouts section, select Edit next to layout you want to update. Select Related Lists and drag the Accrual Balances Related List to the page layout, then select Save.
- In Salesforce Lightning Experience, go to Setup > Platform Tools > Objects and Fields > Object Manager and select the Employment Record object. Select Page Layouts from the left sidebar and then select Edit next to the layout you want to update. Select Related Lists and drag the Accrual Balances Related List to the page layout, then select Save.
