Overview
Action events are emails, forms, or PDF documents sent to Sage People HCM users and specific email addresses at various points in a process in response to specific events. For example, an action event can be triggered:
-
When a team member record is created.
-
When an absence notification is rejected by a manager.
-
When a team member reveals a performance review to their manager.
-
When a vacation request is created by a team member.
-
When a competency assessment is started.
Emails are typically sent using the same outbound email address as the Actions Digest. The sending email address must be verified before emails are sent. If the sender is the team member triggering the action event, it is the team member's email which must be verified for the email to be sent.
Sage People supplies a comprehensive range of action events linked to all main processes.
Action events use existing email, form, and PDF templates; if the action events you intend to set up are to use new templates, you must create the templates first.
Action events are grouped in sets known as action event patterns and the patterns are linked to policies. To create and maintain action events you must access them through a policy or through the Action Event Patterns tab.
Follow this sequence:
-
Create one or more action event patterns to host the action events.
-
Optionally create one or more action roles to act as recipients for specific event notifications.
Action roles extend the range of recipients to individuals or groups associated with HR departments and work locations.
-
Link the action event patterns to one or more policies.
You can also:
-
Configure the time when offset action events are sent.
To send an action event to a team member, the team member must have an active user record.
