Configuring action event send time

Action events from most objects (Absence, Competency Assessment, HR Request and so on) are sent as soon as the trigger event occurs and other conditions are met. But for Passport, Visa, and Employment Record action emails set up with offsets, you can specify the hour of the day they are sent.

Note

For action event related to Enhanced Objective and Feedback objects, you need to configure the send time separately, for more information see Scheduling the Action Emails batch job.

To set the time at which offset action events are sent:

  1. Go to Setup, and in Quick Find enter installed, and select Installed Packages from the search results.

  2. For the Human Capital Management package, select Configure.

    Sage People displays the Configure Sage People HCM page.

  3. In the Setup section, select the Action Emails Send Batch Time picklist:

  4. Select the hour of the day when you want the offset action events to be sent.

    To run the batch immediately, select Run Now. Run Now is particularly useful for testing. If you want to check the progress of the batch while testing, look for ActionEmailBatch in the Apex Class column on the Apex Jobs page in Setup (Setup > Platform Tools > Environments > Jobs > Apex Jobs). Action events which are sent immediately are processed by the ActionEmail job.

  5. Select Save.

Offset action events for Passport, Visa, and Employment Record events are sent daily at the time you specified.

Tip

If the offset action events are not sent when you expect, check your scheduled jobs for an existing Fairsail Action Email job and delete it, then reset the Action Emails Send Batch Time and Save:

  1. Go to Scheduled Jobs:

    In Salesforce Lightning Experience, go to Setup > Platform ToolsEnvironmentsJobsScheduled Jobs.

    In Salesforce Classic interface, go to Setup > Administration Setup > Monitoring > Scheduled Jobs.

  2. Find the existing Job Name Fairsail Action Email.

  3. Select Del.

    You are asked to confirm.

  4. Select OK.

  5. Return to the Human Capital Management Configure page and reset the Action Emails Send Batch Time.

  6. Select Save.
