Setting up performance review templates

Performance review templates let you create multiple, reusable varieties of performance review in Sage People. Incorporate fields to capture the data you want to store and analyze for your teams.

You can maintain the integrity of historical reviews by creating new versions as your processes evolve. You can apply conditions, called constraints, to control when templates are available. The system holds templates in the Performance Review Templates library, constraints in the Constraint Library.

Performance review templates are a more flexible alternative than field sets. Use them for configuring the fields you display to managers and team members through WX performance reviews.

Use templates to support periodic, fixed interval formal reviews, continuous feedback, or both.

Sage People orgs have three performance review templates available as standard:

Set up performance review templates

  1. Create one or more performance review templates.

You can refine your templates iteratively. When ready, publish your draft templates.

  2. Define the constraints.
  3. Link templates to the constraints you want to apply.
  4. Set Configure page and policy options as you require.

You can:

When you've completed and published them, you can select templates by the manager in WX. Do this when creating a new performance review.

The system fully integrates performance review templates in the Bulk Performance Review process. The system analyzes the team members you select and applies legacy or template reviews as appropriate.

You can use template performance reviews in parallel with legacy, non-template reviews. Use policy settings to switch on templates for groups of employees to target. Employees you transition to template reviews can still access their legacy reviews. These remain unchanged.
