Customizing and localizing a Custom Label

You can translate Custom Labels in the Custom Label details or using the Translation Workbench Export and Import features. You can also override translations provided by Sage People.

To access Custom Labels, you can select Override, or Translate if the custom label originates in your org, in the Translation Workbench. This guide explains how to use the Custom Label page.

Add a translation to a Custom Label

  1. Go to Custom Labels:

    • in Salesforce Lightning experience, go to Setup and select Platform Tools. Click User Interface then select Custom Labels

    • in Salesforce Classic interface, go to Setup and select App Setup. Click Create then select Custom Labels

  2. Select the Custom Label where you want to add a translation.

Sage People displays the Custom Label Detail page. If the Custom Label is part of Sage People, the Packaged Translations section on the detail page lists the translations Sage People provides.

  3. In the Local Translations / Overrides section, select New Local Translations / Override.

New Lozal Translation / Override button pointed on Custom Label detail page

Sage People displays the New Translation page.

  4. In the Translation Information section:

    1. Select the Language for the translation. The languages in the picklist are the Supported Languages in the Translation Settings in Translation Workbench.

    2. Enter the translation into the Translation Text box.

  5. Click Save.
